   Europe forecast - December 27, 2024
   Foggy north coast
   Sun central, clouds east

   Issued: 0530hrs Friday 27th December 2024
   Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

Calm winds facilitate fog along the north coasts overnight. Where out
of fog, many will see plentiful sun. Clouds will linger in the north
   and far east.

   Friday
Patchy morning clouds give way to abundant sunshine in Iberia and
western Mediterranean. Lingering showers in Italy soon clearing for
sunshine as well. Showers and breeze continue in the eastern
Mediterranean, though beginning to ease. Sun spells around the Aegean
   between showers.
Fog banks likely along the Continent's north coast, some inland as
well. Where out of fog, a fine day with sun in France, Germany, and the
Low Countries. Clouds encroach further east in Poland and Czechia,
sunnier in Hungary and Croatia and the Balkans. Clouds and snow into
Romania and Bulgaria, remaining dry and cloudy further north. Winds
   quite calm in most places.
Frequent showers continue on the west coasts of Scotland and Norway.
Some isolated drizzly showers and cloudy into Denmark and Sweden. Winds
rather calm in southern Scandinavia. Drier though still cloudy in the
   Baltics. Finland brighter but breezier.

   Saturday
Scattered clouds in Spain and Portugal soon clearing. Widely sunny
across the Mediterranean and Italy, a few stray clouds here and there.
Much of Greece is fair, though breezy with showers again in the Aegean
and far east Mediterranean. Heavy showers, some thundery, onto Turkey's
   southern coast.
Calm winds rebuild fog overnight across the Continent's north coast,
some inland as well. Where clear of fog, a fine sunny day for France,
Germany, and the Alpine Countries. Mostly sunny eastward in Hungary,
Romania, and south towards Greece. Cloudier in Poland, Ukraine, and
Belarus. Mostly dry here though an isolated drizzle or sleet shower is
   possible.
Low pressure in the far north pushes snow across Norway's west coast.
Widely cloudy and breezy across Scandinavia, isolated snow showers
breaking across Sweden and Finland. Denmark and the Baltics will be
cloudy as well with isolated drizzle patches.
