Re: Go VADV! > I too like it that someone is working in VADV scripts and utils. Now if we > can have a working program independent of Roland.. Has anyone seriously considered what it would take to write a replacement for VBBS/VA? The source code for VBBS 7.0 was released to SysOps who had paid for a source code registration. Certainly that code base could be used to write a VBBS/VA style clone. Rewriting the BBS software may have other advantages too, such as making a Win32 or Linux native version, or building in support for "Virtual Modems" rather than relying on SIO or NetModem. Obviously, we couldn't use the code directly without permission from Roland, but it would certainly help quite a bit in reverse engineering much of the internals.
