Ah..  I used dyndns for my old sub domain and the www. worked with a free
account.  Looks like No-Ip want's users to pay a little money before being able
to use the www.mydomain.com.  I don't mind paying a little money but now I'm in
the position to have to think of a domain name which I've been unable to do for
weeks :-b  Here is the response I recieved from no-ip.

If you want to use www before your hostname, you need to set the Mask URL
option on your hostname. This is only allowed for Enhanced users.
