Re: WAKE UP!!!!!!!! > That's definately possible, take a while to write if you fully installed > virtualnet, thenk of all the areas of the BBS it would have to modify. Well how bout having the tosser pre-configured and good documentation for the BBS network configuration? That way it's more of a learning experience. I remember setting up my subs etc., but it's been a long time. If you do it everyday, then it's easy. You can forget after awhile. That's why I like to refer back to the documentation. I think what killed WWIV was the rediculous logistics you had to go through to get a node number etc., and kissing ass to someone to get a feed. It was not user friendly... let alone setting up FIDO for WWIV. I always felt like the WWIV sysops were in their own little clique and didn't like lots of questions. Frank Reid and Eli are different and are always willing to help. VADV has been great because it's such great software with lots of possibilities. I know I drove Steve Winn nuts at times but I always appreciated his support and I tried not to be a pain in the ass. I still think the quality of the the networks determine how well the BBS platform is received. This is why Synchronet was always solid. There is no reason why VADV can't compete. It seems to run faster and is less bogged down. I often believed that Roland was economic with his programming and that's why it runs so good. Jah |
