   Europe forecast - December 01, 2024
   Fair Mediterranean
   Some rain in north

   Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 1st December 2024
   Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

   Sunday
Sunny and settled weather in central Europe gradually migrates east
throughout the day. Expect a chilled, mostly sunny day from eastern
France through Romania and Ukraine. In the afternoon, prolonged sun
will extend into Denmark, southern Sweden, and the Baltics. Pockets of
more extensive cloud may form, but otherwise only scattered clouds.
Clouds will be more extensive on the Iberian Peninsula. Moderate
showers will form along Portugal's coast and in the Bay of Biscay. The
islands between Spain and Italy will experience greater cloud coverage
than days past but remain dry. Expect dry and mostly sunny conditions
across Italy after some morning showers in the southeast move away.
Low pressure continues to dominate over the Aegean Sea, facilitating
heavy rains along the coasts with frequent showers and sun spells on
nearby the islands. Rains and winds will decrease north of Greece,
though clouds likely to remain over the Balkans. Afternoon sun will
push southward through Hungary, northern Croatia and Albania. The high
grounds of North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Montenegro will continue to
see snow. River valleys in this region may flood after several days of
strong rains, though frozen precipitation at high altitudes may temper
   such effects.
The British Isles will see a push of milder air as a band of
light-to-moderate rain arrives on a southwesterly wind. Upon passage,
winds gradually shift west, bringing the potential for sunny skies and
showers. The Norwegian coast will see prolonged rain along the coast,
with cloudy and breezy conditions across inland Scandinavia.

   Monday
Raun in northern Spain today, but fair to the south and east. Italy
will have a fair day too with more sunny spells. Some heavy showers in
Greece and southern Italy. Further heavy showers for western parts of
Turkey but dry in the east.
Showers, some heavy through France with longer spells of rain in
central areas. More rain and heavy showers for the Low Countries. Heavy
showers too in northern Germany but fine for most of the country.
Poland will be mild and dry with sunny spells. Fair for Hungary and
   Austria but rainin Switzerland.
Colder Denmark with sunny spells and showers. Rain in the Baltic States
and mild. Some snow showers for Finland and the risk of heavier snow in
central and southern Sweden. Heavy snow showers in Norway, windy and
   cold too.
