Mysterious monolith disappears from Seattle park January 3, 2001, 12:45 PM SEATTLE - The monolith that mysteriously appeared in a Seattle park with the dawn of 2001 has disappeared just as mysteriously. When workers went to Magnuson Park Wednesday morning, the nine-foot steel monolith was gone. Park spokesman Dave Hubanks told KOMO Radio that only some burned candles and a rose were at the scene. Parks officials were deciding whether the leave or move the object that brought to mind the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey." They were concerned it could be tipped over. And it never went through the process for art in public places. No one publicly claimed credit for installing the monolith. ĿĿĿĿֿ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ VADV 2.10 Ŀ Ĵ Kirkland, WA AspectNet@1425000 |
