Let me ask this... what happens when you open your "My Computer" icon? If it opens, try this, in the bar at the top, put in http://www.msn.com or some web site URL. You may not realize this, but, explorer and internet explorer are one in the same. That is until Vista, but that's another story. Another thing, Mozilla Firefox can still get adware and spyware. As far as Trend Micro stuff goes, I haven't used that crap in years. I'm also not a fan of McAffe's crap either. I give high marks to Symantec, and to AVG's stuff. There are also numerous online scanners that I use but I believe you said you can't get online scanners to work, so I won't go there. AVG would probably be your best bet though... ...
