Well, some may remember me, most will not. I used to run the Lisard Lounge BBS
located in Collinsvile IL, later named Lizard Lounge ONLINE (Went by the handle
"Lizard Man..Reptile of the Night". I was a member of several message bases.
Well, I will try to make this short as possible, but I doubt it. Basicly I had
to take the BBS down for a short while when I moved. I place most of my stuff
in storage. Well to my anger, I went one day to retrieve my items, to find
someone else had done it for me. Yep, my storage unit was virtualy empty (this
was back in the early '90's). Well, years went by, and I FINALY got another
computer in 98. I figured that BBS's were dead. So I never thought once about
starting another one. Then one day last Year, I was in a chat room, and a
person there said that there was a site that hooked up old BBS personel. From
there I relized BBS's were still going. So recently I moved back to IL, and
started searching, and found out not only was the past still alive, but actualy
going on! So, here is where I am.

I am wanting to bring the 'Lounge' back online. However, my head is spinning.
I have read everything that is online. I have downloaded about a million
programs, and still can't get this thing to connect on the net. HELP!!! I
want to get associated with all the message bases again. Unfortuanly my
Co-SysOp is not able to be contacted (Prime Mover..He did most of my ANSI,
because I suck at drawing..:)

So, here is where I am at: I was told to get a Dynamic Dns. So I did. I
downloaded several programs. I am running DynDNS to update the IP address. I
thought my Router was causing the problem, so I went directly into my modem (I
am running DSL through a D-Link Router), and it still didn't connect. I would
like to try the VADV-PHP program for the web, but hell, I need to get it to
connect in the first place. Once I can get that to happen, then I will work on
the other stuff (graphics, web interface, ect). I am running the VADV32 (Great
interface! I remember how VBBS/VA used to crash under win 95). I just want to
get the BBS to connect to the web. I would like to use a Telnet address, but I
am unsure how to set it up. I have read so much on how to do it, and it made
me more confused. Can someone give me a step by step way to set it up? Once I
am connected, then I can mod it to work for me.

In closing, I would like to send a huge congrats to Steve Winn, you too a
program that was abandoned, and perfected it! I remember when Roland switched
to VA and said he would not longer support VBBS and you had to upgrade to VA
otherwise you could not be on VirtualNET (If I remember Right), many were mad.
Seems that Roland has a preaty good track record with his software. Glad to
see that someone would roll with it!!!!

Thanks
