Hi All, Just a few lines to say that yes those of you who do remember me, NightRider, WaterBoy, etc... I am still alive and well, and still doing factory work in Indiana, originally running a VBBS then VADV BBS out of Southern Kentucky, I still run (if you can call 2 or 3 visitors a YEAR) VA 2.1 in South Central Indiana but now it is non-networked we couldn't figure out how to send packets over the internet when I moved here back in 97. So content began to get stale. I do amateur photography (in other words I'm still paying more to do it than I make from doing it, hehe) and have an award-winning website online at http://virtualvillage.crosswinds.net that has become quite popular, receiving about 5 million visitors in the last 8 years, all pictures are free, browse through the tens of thousands and feel free to use any you want. What I would really like to do is figure out a way to run my BBS and display those photos locally, or by telnet, so that I combine my two favorite interests into one major hobby. Currently its like trying to describe to the blind what a rose looks and smells like. Not a very easy task to do. So if anyone is seriously considering rewriting the old code base for VA, or VBBS, please, please, make it a better GUI system! With simplicity on both sides of the connection, as easy as HTML and Javascript on the SysOp side, and as simple as point and click on the user side, with a setup as easy as today's internet browsers. All for now, Robert. VirtualVillage, photographer, SysOp, & webmaster. -- [AT2k] -- Your VBBS/VADV Support Center -- [www.at2k.org] -- [bbs.at2k.org] |
