 Very true.. I am in the army, my MOS is 74Bravo which is System Admin.
 so all the people I work with are from average to adept at computers,
 system admin., networking... and I, in the year I've been in, have only
 found one other person who used to BBS, and he really didn't have much
 of a clue what a BBS is either...

  Well thats a long road back, but not necessarily a hard road. We (the BBSers
  the SYSOPS, Ex-Sysops) have to become more proactive. Thinking about this Im
  as sure as you are that the BBS scene can again succeed. Take for example:
  MUDS.. there are thousands of them, all text based role-playing, and yet you
  can log onto 90% of those thousands anytime of the day and see a minimum of
  10 people online and max (on some) 100+... If we could get that kind of
  advertising it could succeed.
