BF> BF> what i was prooving was that having the ability to read music helps BF> alot, and BF> i proved that by saying that one of my guitarists can read music, the BF> other BF> can only read tab, and the one that reads music is better than the BF> other one. BF> Is the other guitarist better because he CAN read music?? I could see this coming into play if they were playing a song they had never heard before, but lets say they know some song, we'll use a sheryl crow song because she uses more than barre chords. Lets say that both of them had heard the song, the fact that one could read music won't help him any more than the person who can read only tab? Get the point I'm trying to convey? If it was some song that either had never heard before than sure the person who can read music will know the stumming pattern while the tab reader won't because he won't know the timing. I havn't read music since I took piano lessons a while back, but I think I can play a bitchin guitar if I know the chords to a song I like. I have over 500 songs I D/Led from the internet and I can probably play almost all of them, because I know how the song goes and I know the chords. Anyway my 2cents because I don't think reading music will make you a better PLAYER but a better reader. Anyway it's heart that makes a guitarist great. I only wish to present to the world mine. --- * OFFLINE 1.54 |
