Yes they are outsourced but both Larry Carleton and Marcus Miller have their signature guitars. The P5 is basically a Fender Precision bass. Mine has a tobacco sunburst finish and the neck is roasted maple. The fretwork is stunning as the frets have rounded edges. The total cost of the guitar is $500.00 vs $1275.00 for a similar Fender with lesser build quality. Unfortunately I have to wait a couple of months for it to arrive at Sweetwater where they will set it up before sending it to me. It's just a basic "working man's" bass without any "frills" I have two active basses but I still like the simple P-bass for tone and reliability. Mysteria Majicka BBS: Cape Cod Massachusetts.
