I got to the point of installing the bbs but then started scratching my head when it came to configuring the internet "pass through"? The machine is hardwired into a network but the virtualbox is somewhat independent of the machine it is running on. I am sure that it's a small configuration issue, otherwise, it is invisible to the network. It was a small challenge of copying the bbs directory from an external drive to the directory within the virtualbox but hey... I am not a computer person to begin with.
