It's pretty simple to tell if the game has the runtime problem. Simply launch
it in local mode and it'll crash if it's got the bug. I know that I've had to
use the patch for TW2002 versions prior to version 3, Land of Devastation,
older versions of L.O.R.D. and other Seth Able Robinson games and a few others.
Yankee Trader kind of worked with the TSR hack mentioned at the link above but
was very very slow. A big part of the reason I moved my BBS to classic hardware
was to not have to deal with that quirkiness anymore. Mine is a games BBS so
there's a point at which you have to decide between better, newer, faster and
*working*.
