Are the runtime errors you are talking about runtime error 200? This is pretty common with older doors and DOS programs built with Turbo Pascal. It's a timing issue that crops up when running on anything higher than a 200mhz Pentium processor. They have a couple of ways to address it and none of them work for all games/programs.
