Well, like ham radio, I think there will always be a bbs around, but that's mostly my subjective opionion. I didn't think WG was abandonware but it seems that way. Addons require registrations are hard to come by. I did download a bittorrent hack and used the registration key just to play with it. It's ok, but without the client, it's really useless. Anybody would see that Synchronet has anything needed with updated support and documentation right out of the box. My take on the BBS world is that there has to be a common bond or Network between the softwares. In other words, across BBS platforms. Any sysop should be able to choose what software they want now and there should be a universal message base between them. Fido was supposed to fit this bill but some would say it has been stifled by those regulating it. What do you think? |
