well i'm sure they have got their money's worth. a lot of those boards were
subscription bbses and people paid to play majormud,etc.

that being said, it was their choice to dump all that cash into majorbbs and
wg.

i think you mentioned wg being abandonware, let me address this sketchy topic
as well:

gcom went bankrupt and was seized by the courts. apparently there is a company
called netvillage that is still selling worldgroup licenses.  also there is a
man [questman] who claims to own wg and says netvillage is fraudulent.

apparently he has not taken them to court so i dont know how valid his claims
are on this subject.

anyways, the bbsing era is over. you cant expect anything nowadays.
