Most people work their butt off to make sure that there BBS is on par with of the other BBS'es (and that's a lot of work), with the intent that once they hit that mark, they can keep going. But, the problem is, once they hit that mark, they are usually exhausted and stop, saying, "well, my BBS is as good as everyone elses, I can stop here." So, in the long run, everyone's BBS looks exactly the same, and we all use the same message echo networks, and have the same door games, so it doesn't really matter where a person logs in.
