It should be up to each "head" or "heads" of the household as to keeping a
firearm in the house.  However, I think if kids are present in the household
homeowners really should NOT keep a gun unless they are willing to realize it
puts the chances of their son/daughter or one of their friends of getting
killed.  I am going to guess most of us are not living in a horrible
neighborhoods where you have shooting going on every day and you NEED a gun
for self-defense.  If I lived on the south side of Chicago, I would keep a
gun in my house.
