Hi Ginger,

I have also had experience with firearms and not got shot, but the point of gun
laws is not to take them away from honest folk or hunters, but to reduce the
numbers of weapons in circulation available to Criminals. I believe that people
should be vetted before they are allowed a weapon, and that they should be
limited to the type of weapon available. Who can justify the need for an uzi to
go hunting???

Ask why are there so many weapons available to Criminals?? Where do they get
them from? If more houses have guns, then your average burglar is going to have
your camcorder, gold, and a 9mm semi automatic !!

This reinforces the catch 22 problem, people want guns for protection against
criminals, the criminals can get weapons easily because so many people have
them, they are therefore cheap and easily available to criminals.

Break the cycle. I may be cynical but isnt the NRA the holder of much Political
Muscle??  BTW in England it is the National River Authority :-)
