Re: Diet, environment, and bone loss Good to see you get your facts straight regarding calcium supplements, especially calcium carbonate. I thought I was going to have to post your private e-mail reply to me regarding Tums as worthless because it neutralizes stomach acid, and calcium carbonate is better. Don't forget, calcium without magnesium in a 2:1 ratio is ill-advised by most nutritional authorities, though doctos seem oblivious to this fact. Calcium supplements taken without magnesium can actually cause a loss of magnesium. Balance is everything. Unfortunately, magnesium is available widely in foods that the media and many mediacl professionals tell the population is now bad for them: shellfish, nuts, avocados. Magnesium is aslo found in foodstuffs Americans rarely eat: millet for example. ڿ No Fnords Ŀ Schrdinger's Cat Box ͻDeal With It!Ŀڿ ͵ Clean Paths It's Creative Expression, Man! San Diego, CA VNET @1619002 (619) 426-9686 ͼUSENET Access |
