Good to see you get your facts straight regarding calcium supplements,
especially calcium carbonate. I thought I was going to have to post your
private e-mail reply to me regarding Tums as worthless because it neutralizes
stomach acid, and calcium carbonate is better. Don't forget, calcium without
magnesium in a 2:1 ratio is ill-advised by most nutritional authorities,
though doctos seem oblivious to this fact. Calcium supplements taken without
magnesium can actually cause a loss of magnesium. Balance is everything.
Unfortunately, magnesium is available widely in foods that the media and many
mediacl professionals tell the population is now bad for them: shellfish,
nuts, avocados. Magnesium is aslo found in foodstuffs Americans rarely eat:
millet for example.
