Yes, that's truly stupid to withhold help for people trying to do the right
thing and not hurt others, especially if they haven't done anything wrong yet
other than 'think about it'. Lord knows that most of us 'think about' doing
the odd thing that is illegal or could harm someone but we don't get punished
for just thinking about it, let alone seeking help to control it.

In a less severe example I know for many years a large number of homosexuals
became priests because, if you had to swear off of sex anyways, it was better
to ignore your tendencies there rather than do something totally unacceptable
at the time. They still claim there is a much higher percentage of gay priests
than there is in society. Rather ironic I suppose, going into one of the few
professions that still condemn you for it..
