Back then, I knew people who were working a minimum wage job ($4.25 an hour 
back then if I remember right) who put themselves through college.  Some 
worked two jobs -and- went to school.  Now you'd have to be filthy rich to 
go to school without some help.

It's a sad situation but Tennessee has a great trade school program ... and 
if I had to do it over again, I'd get into HVAC as there's good money there.
