MP> >the weight of the Proterra batteries are cracking the bus structure. MP> MP> That last bit doesn't sound too safe for the patrons. They should revisit the idea that they had for busses what was it in the 1950s for four years or so. where the bus has a crazy 3000rpm flywheel spinning violently inside the guts of the bus and hits charging stations every 3.7 miles thats 6km for the metric crowd. I know they played around with it again in 1979 and again in the 80s and yet again in the 90's and again in 2005. So many attempts but nobody has figured out how to perfect the practice. if they used this checkpoint system they could use much smaller batterys then just place these charging stations on small sections of the route. like maybe at and before stoplights. Fire up the flywheel and charge that smaller battery for the next 10 minutes on the way to the next charging station. --- Renegade v1.18a * Origin: Physics bulletinboard.systems 16BIT! (618:300/10) |
