My mother was complaining yesterday about Hollywood in general. Mind you,
Spanish film making has been junk for decades, and she spent a lot of energy
defending Hollywood against snobs that said Spanish cinema was better than
'murican :-) So she is disappointed by the turn the industry is taking.

She said we need a branch of alternative cinema that does not bend knee to this
crap and only tries to entertain. Kind of like the old action movies of the
80s, which had no other pretension than being mindless fun. In her opinion
(which she borrowing from me) we should not be consuming Hollywood material for
as long as they use our money against us.
