Are they forcing them to prove they got it?  If so I agree.  My employer is
not forcing us to prove it to get leave time for it.  I suspect they have
access to check it if they suspect we didn't, though.

From what it sounds like, it could even be an every 6 months thing since,
unlike flu, it is not seasonal.
