You and several other Canadian friends have told me similar stories.  I believe
you all got hit with SARS-CoV-2 before the US did but the way New York state and
New York City mishandled things, that area was the nexus of the US pandemic.

It is very disconcerting (you are the only other person in BBSing that I have
seen use that word!) to me.

I firmly believe while the release of SARS-CoV-2 was caused by sloppy procedures
in a Chinese laboratory, the reaction to it worldwide was politicized and used
to test out various plans to try to control people and steer them into
complacency, eventually to come to rely on government fully.

Note that the virus is quite real as I had a lovely case of COVID-19 in October.
 I am in the part of the population that is at very high risk of dying from
COVID-19 but, thanks to certain medications I take on a daily basis (ACE
inhibitors, high dose of Vitamin D3) and medication I was given at the ER where
I was treated (azithromycin, zinc, Vitamin C), I had a very mild case.

My beef is with the highly politicized way the people were treated and how the
government, knowing better, outright lied (and continues to lie) to its
citizens.

The "vaccine passport" is one of these control measures.

90% of people's fears are bullshit drilled into their head by a conspiring media
and government[1].  In the US, the numbers have shown that less than 1% of the
US population has died from COVID-19 and in that 1%, 98% of those victims had
underlying conditions that were the acutal reason for their death and not
COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 themselves.

But like Rahm Emanuel said, never let a crisis go to waste.

[1] = This is thanks to a public education system that is really a Marxist
indoctrination system; these poor people have little to no critical thinking
skills and believe everything they're told by the mass media and government.
