I am trying to install a MITSUMI 2X ATAPI IDE CD-ROM on my brother's computer
and the driver gives me this message:

     IDE CD-ROM not detected.....Driver not loaded.

His computer is a 386 DX/40 ISA-BUS system.  He has an ISA IDE Super I/O
controller on his system.  I have the CD-ROM jumpers set to 'Slave' and have
attached the CD-ROM to the secondary connector on the IDE ribbon cable.  I
have done everything I know to do such as:  Switch connectors on the cable,
check for device conflicts, change the jumper settings and nothing has worked
yet.

Anyone who could give me some insight on this problem would make me very
happy.
