I also used to have a Linkedin account. It never did anything for me. I think it
was due to a bad combination of not having friends in my field of
specialitation, having a lame CV at the time, and just sucking at
self-promotion. Nowadays you only get the job and the attention if you lie like
a bastard.

"Falken, I am just out of a job interviews. They need and admin "
"That is awesome!"
"By the way, they wanted somebody with experience with Solaris. Can you tell me
what it is?"
 
Then you go to some interview and they ask you if you have experience with Red
Hat. You say you have used Debian and Gentoo and Slackware and Linux From
Scratch and that you think you can pick Red Hat quickly becuse Red Hat is so
similar to the others.
 
Guess who is picking the jobs. Based in a true story :-)
