I believe that the Earth has climate change, with or without us, but I also believe that irresponsible pollution cannot not have some consequences. That said, I was watching some show on the Weather Channel once. It was mostly a scare piece, but one meteorological scientist towards the end pointed something interesting out. There are two man-made components that can cause global warming. He said that right now (10 years ago?) they are keeping each other in check. He cautioned that a lot of global warming fanatics usually only focused on one or the other component and, if they only act on that one component without addressing the other, it would cause things to get worse more quickly than if nothing had been done, like make the Earth another Venus worse. IIRC, one was particulates in the air, while the other was pollutants which damaged the ozone layer. I agree that knee-jerk reactions, without any thought of the consequences, are not the way to go. Apparently, so did that scientist. Mike --- * SLMR 2.1a * A penny saved is a Congressional oversight. * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (618:250/1) |
