I think it just goes to show that some people who otherwise seem to ignore
history will remember something from it if they are looking for something
to be upset about.

In this day in age, I think it is a good idea to either:

(1) not dress up as someone from a different race than you, even if you
are a big fan of Mr. T or Madea;
(2) if you cannot not dress as them, you need to go as the <fill in the blank
with your race> version of said character, i.e. White Urkel;
(3) choose a "different race" that is something non-human from science
fiction, like a dalek or a wookie.
