RE: cd-Rom not being recognized ON: BY: ``Jeanne Kleypas`` VirtualNET,- #45 AT 1512300 [ To: ``Jeanne Kleypas`` VirtualNET,- #45 AT 1512300 ]Ŀ Out of blue, the audio was not complete on the games I have on my cd's. My 'friend' decided to take a look at it. First it didn't make a change, but over the last two days for whatever command he gave the computer, it does not even recognize that there is a cd player. I still can get windows, but if I put in a cd, it says to put one in, then an error comes up saying MSCDX-2.10 and then the exact same thing again underneath that. [ DreamQuote v0.8 ] ...I hate to tell you this, but the motor may be dead...that's exactly what happened to me both times my CD-ROM died...you can fix it, but it'll cost a lot more than it's worth... Doesn't really matter how old it is either...my first one was probably about a year old, and my second wasn't even 90 days old (obviously defective)...it just depends on the type, how often you use it, all that... |
