To be honest, you can argue you can have meaningful amounts of inflation in a
healthy economy. The key for that to happen is that people's income increases
with prices so families' purchasing power stays the same. Obviously not what is
happening here, though.

It sounds to me like a good moment for americans with land to retreat away from
the economy for a while and run a self-sustainable farm, Amish style. The way
things are going, it will be hard to have a meaningful exchange of goods and
services in a matter of years, ie. getting a job won't be enough for making a
living anymore.
