I have wondered, especially as of late, why the original movement allowed
those others to become part of it.  I am sure there is overlap, but it
sounds like many gay and lesbians really want no part of their crap, and
that is not new.  One of my friends in college (late 1980's) was bi.  Even
back then, she knew that she wanted no part of some of the crazier stuff
that was trying to work its way into the movement, and she was not alone.

I wonder if they got stuck with them because some left-leaning politicians
lumped them all together.
