I did take the time to explain the settings that he had wrong. He said he 
understood... evidently not.

If he does not understand how to configure a mailer or is too busy with school
then he should not be part of message networks. Most expect regular polling
and a basic skillset-level. If the ZC of a net asks him to fix something
wrong, he will now come to you because you allowed this to be "your problem".

And after months of trolling... now you want my help.
