I had to do some math there. Even though Canada is Metric, some things are
still measured in old units. A face cord is 16in x 4ft x 8ft, which works out
to about 42.7 cubic feet ($200) where your 2 cubic meters is 70.6 cubic feet,
so your $300 works out a little cheaper but it's still rather expensive.

Yes, that's one thing, with old buildings and such you are always doing
repairs and have old wood to get rid of and, although my lot is not heavily
wooded (lots of bedrock) there are still trees that die or have to be removed
which gives you something else to burn that only costs you some labour.
