MSCDEX for some reason really can't task well > under a 386. ---------------------- Glad I didn't know that when I had my 386DX33 with an 850 meg IDE and a 2x CD-ROM, or it probably would have quit working... As it was, it worked fine for me... Magic works that way... heh heh heh [ This is my response ] That is cause you didn't have 32bit access turned on in Windows.. It would seem that it isn't MSCDEX that was causing the problems, but instead the WDCTRL driver in windows for 32bit access that isn't compatible with th ATAPI CDROM drives that are in use. I've experienced this problem OFTEN but always assumed it was due to a DMA channel problem caused by MSCDEX on 386 and 286 machines. *****Merlin***** ================ Excaliber BBS VNET@1610025 VBBS Ver. 7.00.02 Supra 28.8V34 (610)488-0299 USR VEverything(488-9194) |
