It isn't just up where you are.  We are battling the same insanity here.  It is
understandable to go along and play the game.  Hell, I do this just about
everyday of my life at work.

I was having a conversation with my brother this weekend about a major different
between today's youth and back when we were in school.  Here is a real example.

The mandatory mask wearing at school that was going on for months around here
until recently.  We just wouldn't have worn them if we didn't want to - period. 
End of story.  If they kicked us out of the school, fine.  There is no way in
hell I would have been wearing a mask in school back then.  

The school called us once a month ago about my son not wearing a mask outside at
gym.  I told them I agree with him, and I wouldn't be wearing it either. Screw
their rediculous rules.  

I'm sure there will be people wearing masks 10+ years from now, but at least I
will be able to easility identify the idiots without even having to talk to
them.
