I would like to take this moment to inform my dear friends of a wonderful new audio format that is fairly new. The extention is .MP3. You may have already encountered files like this. These files are great in the way they provide audio at in quality GREATER THAN CD!!!! Throw out your CDs and get some MP3s. Now, you're are no doubt thinking that this format must hog up gigabytes of hard drive space. Untrue! I converted a 40MB WAV I had of the Doors "Light my Fire" in CD-Quality to an MP3. The size dropped to 3 MEGS!!! Now that many people have discovered this format, the electronic underground has attacked it! WinPlay, the most widely accepted MP3 player has a zillion illegal serial numbers now that are being passed through cyberspace. If you have a 386, forget it! MP3 requires 486 or greater, with special support for Pentium. When RiverNet establishes a file transfer protocol for the network, I plan on distributing all of my MP3s. They are great, stock up! Many web sites are devoted to MP3s, and have huge archives. I'll be pleased to suply you with the software neccessary to use MP3s if required. Yours, Jesse Alter --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: The Midnite Ryder BBS -- Jackson, NJ 908-928-6093 (717:908/0) |
