     Dominique,

     We were writing about getting roped into DTP jobs.  It's funny how
people think you are being snobbish when you don't want to work for free.
How do they think you can afford to have all that nice computer equipment
that makes this kind of work possible if you do everything for free?  I've
done jobs in exchange for equipment before.  In fact, most of the equipment I
have now was earned through doing WWR and other jobs.  I actually enjoy
working up material for friends but I want to offer rather than being asked
to do it.  If I'm asked, I expect to get payment.
     I've been trying to help a friend I met LONG AGO on Prodigy, get her
business up and running.  She actually has three companies and I've been
doing letterheads and envelopes to save her money until she gets going.  But
once she gets her companies off the ground, I'll be making $20 an hour on the
jobs I decide to do.  In the meantime, she pays me enough to cover costs.
But you have to start somewhere, right?
     But as for taking on more newsletters...forget it!  Especially monthly
ones.  I might consider doing a quarterly for some worthy cause but no more
monthy assignments.  People have no idea how long projects like that take,
and I work faster than most, so I'm told.
     Well, I suppose I'll hop off this soap box before I sound like a total
bitc#. ;-)
