Re: GOAL POST

Rhia--I was just looking at the April issue that came in the mail...well, not
actually the whole issue, just the address panel...and I was wondering why
you used two "G" stamps on it. Wouldn't the extra ounce only cost 23 cents?
Using a "G" and a 23 cent stamp would be 55 cents postage, while two "G"s
amount to 64 cents. That nine cent difference can really add up over several
months and mailing of hundreds of WWRs!
I recently got the forms for "Stamps by Fax or Phone" through the local
postal service here in Michigan...and I noticed that 23's were available this
way, so even if you couldn't drive on down to the PO...you could order the
stamps delivered to your home.
The way the program works here...you get the form from the post office (I
picked mine up at a business expo, but I'd guess you could even get one from
your carrier)...if you fax, or phone, your order to the local P.O. before
9a.m., your carrier delivers the stamps that day and you pay the carrier by
check for the stamps. Ordering after 9 a.m. gets the stamps to you the next
day. If the program is available in your area, you'd be able to save
yourself those trips to the PO when all you want is 32, 23 or 20 cent stamps.
And you'd save yourself 9 cents postage on each WWR (the difference would be
even greater as WWR weighs more and requires more postage! Three ounces
would be 78 cents, as opposed to 96 cents, f'instance...).
I thought it was a question worth asking, anyway...

Can you tell I've run lots of campaigns were every pinched penny counts?
