MW#@>It's like this: A bowl of cherries! I get money back!! Thank you, thank
MW#@>you Uncle Sam.

MW#@>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sez Me <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
MW#@>Thank you Uncle Sam? Ummm - for what? That money you are getting back
MW#@>is -your- money, which you earned by -your- labor. Uncle Sam is giving
MW#@>you nothing. Actually, what Uncle Sam has done is withheld more money
MW#@>than he was entitled to from your paycheck.

MW#@>Uncle Sam has then taken that piece of money and put it to whatever use
MW#@>he deems proper, until you send in the form to remind him to give it
MW#@>back to you. While he has use of your money, he gives you no benefit of
MW#@>it; you cannot spend it, you cannot save it (in an interest-bearing
MW#@>account), nor can you invest it. Uncle Sam doesn't even give you a cent
MW#@>of interest on your money that he's been using - and that he withheld
MW#@>from you.

MW#@>And you'd better ask him for your own money back in the way he mandates,
MW#@>according to the form, and by a certain date - or else. If you make a
MW#@>mistake, it's your fault; if Uncle Sam makes a mistake, it's your fault
MW#@>until you can prove otherwise... <G>

What is more, if you owe more at tax time that Uncle Sam deems seemly,
you have to pay him interest along with your regular payment. To avoid
this, you must have more money withhheld by your employer, or like Rhia
and me, make estimated payments every three months to insure that your
tax underpayment at the end of the year is not too large.
