RRD#@>> Non-fiction writers also face the task of going through Writer's Market RRD#@>> and other outlets...searching for markets for their work. I don't RRD#@>> think the markets for non fiction writers are any "clearer" than they RRD#@>> are for fiction writers. Non fiction writers (particularly those who d RRD#@>> this for a living) pursue a variety of markets, a variety of angles to RRD#@>> sell their work to differing markets and a variety of topics. RRD#@> This is one of my favorite things about writing nonfiction. I can s RRD#@>the same story written from different perspectives to several different RRD#@>markets. You can write about hobby and work related topics or you can do RRD#@>interview based articles...there never seems to be a shortage of ideas fo RRD#@>material. And the best part is that I don't get bored because I'm always RRD#@>moving on to another topic. And the odds are better because there are ma RRD#@>more markets for nonfiction work. It may seem easier to get started with non-fiction because there are so many local markets crying for material (newspapers and regional magazines, f'instance). Local markets for fiction and poetry are scarce, but there's always some weekly newspaper that needs human interest stories or profiles. And if that weren't enough...markets like the weeklies actually *pay*...mebbe not much, but usually *something* * OLX 2.1 TD * Political correctness is pure bovine scatology. |
