Time to post your goals for the week of 6/17/95. Be sure to post
progress from last week as well. If you are a Writer's Workshop lurker, come
and join us in posting our goals for the week. You will be glad uou did!

Post weekly goals! Give it a try, just once. I promise it will really
help keep you on track with your current projects. Send out the GOAL POST
every week by Saturday. Make it a habit to start posting your goals with
us.

My goals for last week and progress report...

1. Finish up the July issue of WWR.
Just one more article to add in. Then Patti will do one final edit just
to make sure everything is in order. Should go to press one week from
     today!

2. Get the club newsletter done.
     Done!

3. Send out more letters to local editors.
I didn't get to this one. See next one for reason.

4. Try to locate a copy of N.W. Palate magazine.
I spent two days driving all over the place looking for this magazine in
places the publisher told me carried it. Must be VERY popular because
every store I wnet to was completely sold out. ;-) I'll order one!

5. Avoid insanity.
     Weeeellllll...

My goals for next week are to...

1. Send out another batch of letters to editors.

2. Make a complete set of business forms.

3. Get WWR ready for its final edit.

4. Start collecting material for the August issue.

5. Make a birthday special for my VERY SPECIAL six year old.

     On a personal note:

I received a few copies of an article of mine that was published in a
rather large, well-put-together newsletter for bird lovers. The article was
on breeding Zebra Finches. My article took up half the front page and two
full pages besides. Sure looked nice!
I may not have made all of the goals I had PLANNED for this week, but I
accomplished a lot of other important things. For instance, I responded to a
letter from a new editor who was enquiring about the possibility of ad
swapping. I needed to sit down and design a new ad for him, etc.
The packet of papers I've been needing from my previous publisher FINALLY
arrived and I had to sing and return a letter to our lawyer and then forward
copies of everything in the packet to my new publisher.
Most everything I did this week was work related.
The kids are out of school for the summer and working will be hard for me
for the next few weeks until I can get used to having them under foot all day.
The boys will keep themselves busy doing yard work in the neighborhood though.
My daughter is rarely home anymore. She hangs out next door with a new girl
in the neighborhood. My youngest has a best friend too so he's not much of a
pest. Hell, maybe this will be easier than I thought. ;-)

                    Rhia

Workshop Review Magazine.

                      WRITER'S WORKSHOP PRAYER

The Writer's Workshop is a place where myself and several other
writers of vastly different backgrounds in writing, hope to come to
discuss the ins and outs of the writing business. This is a place we
hope will become home to writers who take what they do seriously, be
they beginners or seasoned professionals; people who want to learn and
share with others.
We encourage everyone to share the rejections and of course the
highlights, so that we can celebrate with you. This should be a place of
sharing and a place of laughter, NOT A PLACE TO SHOW OFF OR CONDEMN!
Everyone is welcome to share their views, but PLEASE, NO PUBLIC BASHING!
(Use E-mail for that. <G>;)

                     WELCOME TO WRITER'S WORKSHOP!
