Patti's got me replacing "telling" with dialogue and tha Wow. You have weird relatives. (g) Of course, my relatives are perfectly normal. Doesn't everybody have one garbage can per family member and flash their wives? You know, the story seems to be crying out to be made into a movie. People love to see that type of stuff on the big screen. Would you like scriptwriting guidelines? I think you could make a lot of money. Regarding your question - I don't have carpel tunnel just yet, but I do have chronic tendonitis that hurts like hell when it rains. Since typing is my profession at the moment, I have to just take my little blue pills and bear it as best I can, but I'm a coward when it comes to pain. Now, here's a story idea I came up with when I was sitting on the pot, a place where I receive the most intense revelations. A small stand of old forest in South America is being cut down for wood pulp and eventual paper, but the loggers discover that a lot of the wood has been ruined by a boring insect. The trees are sprayed with a chemical pesticide, which seems to cure the problem of holes in the wood. The trees are cut down and made into wood pulp and paper, which is then shipped to North American distributors and business supply warehouses. Several boxes of the paper make their way into a particular office. The main character of the story is a mousy secretary who wouldn't dare disagree with her boss because she's timid and he's a bit of an ass. While complying with his order to copy some reports, she receives a small paper cut. Within a few hours, she's become a totally different person -- flirtatious, verbally abusive to people she doesn't like, smoking, etc. It turns out that although the pesticide killed the majority of the insects, several of them survived and mutated, exuding an enzyme which breaks down seratonin and dopamine (behavioral inhibitors in the human brain). Our mousy secretary has become a monster showing her true colors without the inhibitors to restrain her actions. |
