LP#@-->you have to pay him interest along with your regular payment. To avoid LP#@-->this, you must have more money withhheld by your employer, or like Rhia LP#@-->and me, make estimated payments every three months to insure that your LP#@-->tax underpayment at the end of the year is not too large. LP#@-->--- Or worse....suddenlyu find out that your family accountant, who is now dead, and yer mom conspired to not file, but claim that they paid you an income, on mony you did not earn, and then file it all on a form used in real estate transactions....then mom fires her secretary who knows all this good trash, she calls IRS turns you and others in... and voila, an IRS audit. Well, finally they only could nail us for one year. WE untangled the mess, and Paid uncle Sam $6207 and change, then got a letter from the irs telling us that in thier estimate we still owed another $3,500 in penalties. No amount of letters, or arbitration or anyting would stop them from collecting it...even tho we explained that right now HE is a broke non-working grad student. Finally they agreed to take it all out of active collections, but the interest still piles up...finally we forced the Queen to pay off the IRS. I threatend to turn her in, and reminded her that SHE told us if we kept quiet filed the return for money he did not make, she would pay the bill. Of course she did not, and we did...goddess, I hate the IRS. And in the middle of this, they tried to audit me...sure, go for it I said...it is hard to audit a 1040EZ for the last 10 yrs... sybella * SLMR 2.1a * How wonderful opera would be if there were no singers. |
