Re: Validate a Sysop > Ok, Is there a way how I can validate a visiting sysop. Some thing simple. > any one have any ideas There is an Auto-Sysop Validation setting in the MAIN VADV Configuration (Screen 3). You can set it to give them a certain Security Level and Time Limit, but it doesn't verify that they really have a board. Only thing I believe you can do just leave it at that, or write a script for during sign-up that will ask the user some questions like what is the BBS Name, what is the telnet address to it, etc, and then if they answer the questions it will Auto-Validate them, but if they refuse to answer it leaves their SL and Time the same as any other new user. People can still abuse it and just say they are a sysop to get the free access, so in my case, I don't have this option available. New users usually have almost full access to my board upon first login anyways, so what is the point? ComputerWhiz -- [AT2k] -- Your VBBS/VADV Support Center -- [www.at2k.org] -- [bbs.at2k.org] |
