Ah.. Boot Camp, I've heard of it. Sounds like a fine solution
or people who what to use Mac hardware with their familiar
Windows progs.

I tried Mint on a legacy iMac that I am trying to revive, but I
only got this far before it simply locked up:

I've love to use this machine as a media display monitor in my
shop.

That's a wealthy aunt. Stay friends! You might inherit
something. ;)

How is she using the Mac most of the time? Is it just for
browsing over the internet and movies? Is she using it for
anything like photography?

A friend of mine has been 100% Mac most of his computer life,
but he stays with 100% MacOS and Mac progs. His main utility
for the machine is photography and some music. Wrt music, he's
digressed to Spotify since he can then control his amplifier/
player with his iPhone or the Mac. He owns a pair of Klipsch
Heresy speakers (an earlier model from the 80's) that sounded
absolutely wonderful when he demo'd some classical tracks from
an LP of Holt's Planets.

Is it still in preview state? I am reading that Win11 will
only be available for 64bit machines, but "FREE" to Win10
users.
