The issue is that for people to make the switch, they need to be aware there are alternatives. Most consumers out there are not informed and think everything is Windows - they don't even know Apple uses a different OS. And those who know of the Apple ecosystem often want nothing to do with it because of cost concerns or walled garden concerns.
