I also used Filezilla back in the day, and it was a fine solution. Extra points
for supporting sftp
too.

Nowadays I think most Linux file managers have support for sftp or ftp out of
the box, which is
quite cool. I use the command-line ftp tool quite often myself. ay better than
having to install a
full featured graphical client.

As an interesting recommendation, you guys could check Swiss File Knife (SFK).
It is a portable
binary with an array of integrated utilities for sysadmins that need tools to
solve issues in a
pich. It comes with both an ftp client and server, http support, checksum tools
and a wide
collection of other goodies. It works on Windows, Linux and Mac. Great for those
times when you
have to transfer some file from a computer to another.
